Hello, my name is Christine Sloan Stoddard. Welcome to my client website. I am an author, artist, and filmmaker with experience as a cultural producer and curator. I founded Quail Bell Press & Productions, which creates original projects like Quail Bell Magazine and works with select clients. Previous clients include the Brooklyn Public Library, the Art Deco Society of New York, Lehman College Art Gallery, Yes! Magazine, Annmarie Sculpture Garden-Smithsonian affiliate, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, and Freshkills Park Alliance, among others.
I am the author of Belladonna Magic: Spells in the Form of Poetry and Photography (Shanti Arts), Water for the Cactus Woman (SpuytenDuyvil), Hispanic and Latino Heritage in Virginia (The History Press), and other books. My visual art and films have appeared in the New York Transit Museum, Queens Museum, New Britain Museum for American Art, Waveland Ground Zero Hurricane Museum, Poe Museum, and other venues. My work has received recognition from FOLIO:, Artbridge, the Puffin Foundation, Ms. Magazine, Time Out New York, Washington Post Express, The Graduate Center-CUNY, The City College of New York, VCUarts, and other organizations. I am a proud former AmeriCorps volunteer.
Currently, I am interested in taking on projects involving long-form written and visual storytelling, cultural research and curation, public art design, teaching artist curriculum design, creative placemaking, and imaginative event planning. I am not interested in projects involving for-profit marketing and promotion, with the exception of collaboration with Quail Bell Magazine. Please do not inquire about corporate copywriting or social media management opportunities at this time. Contact me to start a conversation. For non-client work, visit my artist website.
