Flatbush Nostrand Junction BID
During graduate school, I was an artist fellow through a program called Window to Flatbush. This fellowship was a collaboration between the Flatbush Nostrand Junction Business Improvement District (BID), BRIC Arts Media, and ArtBizFusion. During the program, teams of local artists were paired with small businesses in Brooklyn's Flatbush neighborhood to help re-design storefronts and launch social media campaigns. At the end of the fellowship, video and photography work I created were displayed (and sold) at BRIC House in Brooklyn. The night of the reception, I was interviewed for an article about Window to Flatbush that ran in BK Reader. The following month, the Flatbush Nostrand Junction BID won an international award for its economic community development efforts, such as Window to Flatbush. The BID contracted me to co-create a website representing the Window to Flatbush program, which you can visit here:
